  • All Aboard the Wayne READS Train . . . A Journey to Improve Literacy

    -- Tuesday, November 27, 5:30-7:00PM, at Jaycee Stadium --- The Literacy Fair will have train rides, food, game tents, face painting, crafts, and entertainment. Free books (while supplies last) will be autographed by Wayne County High School Athletes, Band Members, Majorettes, and Cheerleaders. IT’S ALL FREE!

  • Family Literacy Month

    First held in 1994, National Family Literacy Day (November 1) kicks off National Family Literacy Month. The Wayne County School System invites all families to share their favorite books. The month’s festivities will culminate with a Literacy Fair to be held November 27 ay Jaycee Stadium, from 5:30-7:00pm. All families are invited to attend this free event. #FamilyLiteracyDay

  • WCHS CTAE Department Recognition

    The Wayne Co. High School CTAE Department was recognized recently with the 2018 Economic Development Endorsement from the GEDA and the GA Department of Education. This designation signifies a partnership between the high school, local businesses, and industry in our community. Receiving the award was Wayne County’s IDA Director, Dell Keith, and WCHS Principal, Dr. Brett McDaniel.

  • GLISI Cohort 55 Team from Wayne County Climbed Stone Mountain

    Six members of the GLISI Cohort 55 Team from Wayne County climbed Stone Mountain as a team building activity on September 18. GLISI (Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement) allows school and district leaders an opportunity to come together to create healthy, vibrant, and collaborative learning cultures committed to getting better and achieving breakthrough results.     The Georgia Department of Education has released the most recent 4-year graduation rate, and the Wayne County School System is proud to announce that its graduation rate for their students is now at an all-time high of 90.83%. Click on the link above for more information.
