Mrs. Judy Beaver
I am Judy Beaver your Work-Based Learning/Youth Apprenticeship (WBL/YAP) Coordinator at WCHS. This is my 30th year in education and my 16th year placing students at WBL/YAP job sites. I look forward to working with you, your parents, and our business partners. I graduated from Troy University, Valdosta State University, and WCHS Class of 1987. Go Jackets!!
Sophomore and juniors who would like to enroll in WCHS's WBL/YAP Program must apply to the program by completing the online program application. In considering a student application for the Work-Based Learning/Youth Apprenticeship Program, his/her high school discipline, transcript, attendance records, and teacher recommendations are considered before acceptance into the program is confirmed. Additionally, eligible students should have previously earned two credits in their CTAE pathway. Our goal is to place students at job sites in their CTAE pathway. Mrs. Beaver will meet with her current employers in the spring to determine job opportunities for the summer and for the upcoming school year. Then, students will be selected by Mrs. Beaver to interview for a job in their pathway. Some students will obtain their own job, but this is not required. However, all job placements must be approved by Mrs. Beaver.
