Meet the Principal - Dr. Brian Simon
About Dr. Simon:
Brian A. Simon was born in Atlanta, Ga. January 10, 1970 to the parents of Thomas (Deceased) and Maggie Simon. He was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and later attended Savannah State College in 1988. Brian majored in History and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. After graduation, Brian was hired at A.E. Beach High school in Savannah, GA as a Social Studies teacher. While at Beach High School, he began his coaching career with Football, Basketball and Track. After 10 years of coaching and teaching at Beach High School, Brian was hired as the Social Studies Facilitator for Corporate Academy of Savannah and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach of Savannah State University. After his work at SSU, he became the head basketball coach at Jenkins High School in Savannah, GA. After completion of his second year of coaching, he was summoned to return back to A.E. Beach High School to become the Assistant Principal 2006-2007. In 2007 he was hired by the Jasper County School District as the principal of the new Ridgeland High School in Ridgeland, SC. where he served until 2010. In 2011, he was named the principal of Jackson Heights Elementary School. While in these positions, he attended Cambridge College in Massachusetts to receive his Masters of Education in Education Administration, Advanced Graduate Studies degree in Leadership and Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Simon is married to Mrs. Devorah James Simon along with two children Maddison Gibson (15) and Ayden Chandler Simon (3).
