Wayne County FY20 Parent and Family Engagement Policy
The Wayne County School District welcomes parent input and comments at any time regarding the the school's or district's Parent and Family Engagement Plan. All feedback is used during the revisions of these documents. Feedback may be submitted by clicking on "Click to Take Parent and Family Engagement Plan Survey" below after you have reviewed the documents. Wayne County Schools Parent and Family Engagement
All schools in the Wayne County School System as a part of Title I funding are provided with Parent and Family Engagement programs to assist them in achieving their goals and expectations of helping and keeping parents/families engaged in their child's education. Research shows that children who have families that regularly attend school events and stay updated on grades and other academic endeavors are more likely to excel in school activities and succeed at a higher level than those children who have families that are less active when it comes to academia.

Wayne County Adopted PTA Standards for Parent/Family Engagement Programs
Standard 1: Communicating—Communication between home and school is regular, two-way, and meaningful.
Standard II: Parenting—Parenting skills are promoted and supported.
Standard III: Student Learning—Parents play an integral role in assisting student learning.
Standard IV: Volunteering—Parents are welcome in the school, and their support and assistance are sought.
Standard V: School Decision Making and Advocacy—Parents are full partners in the decisions that affect children and families.
Standard VI: Collaborating with Community—Community resources are used to strengthen schools, families, and student learning.
