College/Career Information

Senior Students planning to attend college (technical, two year, & four year):

  • Research colleges and universities.

  • Start sending in college applications.  You do not have to wait until you have everything together...colleges will create a file on you and update as your information reaches them.

  • Sign-up for the ACT and SAT test, the sooner the better. This gives you a chance to re-take the exam if you want a higher score.

  • Start to look for and apply for scholarships.

  • Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA.

  • Request your high school transcript be sent to the colleges of your choice.

SENIORS GUYS!!!!!  By Federal Law, you must sign up with the Selective Service between the ages of 18-24. It just takes a few minutes.  You are not eligible for any federal financial aid if you do not sign up.

Students planning to enter into the military:

  • Start talking to the recruiters of the branch(es) you are interested in.

  • Sign-up for the ASVAB test with your recruiter. (WCHS has not set dates to offer the ASVAB for the 2020-2021 school year due to COVID-19)

Students who plan to go straight to work:

You should begin to fill out and turn in applications.  Find out what job requirements/skills are needed. If a Georgia Work REady Certificate is needed, and you haven't tested, contact Judy Beaver at the high school.

If at anytime you have any questions, please contact the Counseling Department.
