Kathleen “Katie” Deal Tatum is a native of the K’Ville, GA area of Wayne County. She attended the College of Coastal Georgia and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2015. In 2018, she graduated from Valdosta State University with her Master of Social Work degree. Mrs. Tatum has experience with the Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Family and Children Services, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, with a primary focus of mental health counseling.  She obtained her license as a Clinical Social Worker in July of 2022.

In August of 2022, Mrs. Tatum began working full-time as a School Counselor at Wayne County High School. She is currently pursuing her school counseling certification. Mrs. Tatum decided to make the transition into high school counseling because of the joy she has found in working with teenagers. She is also thrilled to have the opportunity to serve her own community.  She lives by the saying, “there’s no place like home!”

Mrs. Tatum is married to Chad Tatum, also a native of K’Ville, GA. They live in Jesup, GA and currently have one daughter, Bonnie Kate Tatum. They enjoy spending their spare time with their energetic toddler and three dogs outdoors, whether it be visiting the mountains or spending a day at the river. Mrs. Tatum enjoys reading, true-crime podcasts, and trying new things (especially new foods).

Fun Fact: I watch Golden Girls every night before bed and own every season on DVD.
