October 28, 12:45 P.M.

 Parents/Guardians,

Jesup Elementary School entered a brief lockdown at approximately 11:45 because of a report from a grandparent that there may be a domestic dispute among family members and that one of the family members may be traveling to the school and may have a weapon.  Police were immediately contacted and dispatched to the school. It was soon discovered that the report received by the school was not accurate and that there was never any threat to the school.  The lockdown at JES was lifted, and normal school operations resumed.  JES was in lockdown for approximately 25 minutes. Thanks to school and law enforcement officials for such a quick response and for ensuring that students and staff remain safe.  Everyone is okay, and there is no need to call the school or check children out of school.

Arthur Williams Middle School did not enter lockdown because of JES exiting lockdown so quickly.
