📚🍪 5th Grade Book Tasting! 🍪📚

Our 5th graders had a fantastic time participating in a "Book Tasting" in the library! Students read several books and reviewed what they had learned during the first 9 weeks. 📖✨

And, of course, all that hard work deserved a special treat! 🍬💙 Our students enjoyed a little something sweet to celebrate their accomplishments.

MRSE picture day will be Thursday, October 15th!

MRSE Student Council is hosting a Christmas Shirt Fundraiser during the month of October that ends on November 19th. Orders and payment should be completed on Revtrak. We hope to use funds raised to purchase performance risers for our stage so that every MRSE student has a chance to SHINE during performances! Thank you for supporting our efforts to BE THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE! around our school and in our community.

Don't forget that today is an 11:30 dismissal for all students. There is no school on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. We look forward to seeing all students back at school on Wednesday, October 14.

October is National Principals Month, a time to honor them for their leadership, dedication, and impact on our students, staff members, and community. A special “THANK YOU!” to our Yellow Jacket, Bee, Blue Jay, and Pirate principals for all they do.

Georgia Pre K Week is October 5–9, 2026, celebrating early learning and highlighting the importance of Georgia’s free, voluntary Pre K program for all 4-year-olds. Georgia Pre K Week is a statewide, weeklong event organized by Voices for Georgia’s Children and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) to raise awareness of the value of high-quality early childhood education. Launched in 1992 as a pilot with 750 students, Georgia’s Pre-K program has grown into a nationally recognized model, serving over two million children and providing a free, voluntary early education for all 4-year-olds regardless of income. Research shows children in the program make significant gains in math, language, literacy, and social-emotional skills, with benefits lasting well beyond kindergarten. This year’s Georgia Pre K Week theme is Celebrating Curiosity, Confidence, and a Love of Learning.

Our school was filled with color, music, smiles, and celebration as we enjoyed a special parade throughout the school! We loved coming together to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic community. ❤️💛💚💙

There are 10 partner agencies across Wayne County that are open to the public and provide essential food resources to families in need.

Please know that we are closely monitoring the situation and are in ongoing communication with Emergency Management Agency (EMA) officials and other emergency personnel. At this time, we are planning to have school tomorrow. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will continue to assess conditions and share any updates as needed. If you feel that you cannot safely travel to school, please send a note with your child when they return. We encourage all families to stay informed and take time to review their emergency plans and ensure they are prepared should conditions change. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to monitor this situation.

First District Agency Expo, an event designed to educate parents about area agencies and services available for our students with
disabilities, will be in Jesup on March 12 (Coastal Pines Technical College, 8:30am-2:00pm) and in Hinesville on March 25 (Liberty County PAC, 8:30am-2:00pm). Agencies from across the entire First District region will be represented. We encourage you to attend. For those who may need help with the online returning student verification process, this afternoon is the second of our help sessions at the Tech Center Computer Lab (next to JEB). We will have folks there from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM today to assist you.
