honors

As a way to ensure the honor and integrity of the Honors/Accelerated English classes at Wayne County High School, you are assigned one work of literary merit as an independent novel study. Within the first month of your assigned English course, your teacher will guide you through an independent project over the novel assigned below. This project will include options from which students may choose, and could consist of multimedia presentations, written components, and more creative projects to assess comprehension and application of literary skills. Any questions should be directed to the course instructors. All projects will be completed within the first month of the new school semester, and teachers will assign due dates in the course syllabus. Notice that while there are no assignments to complete over the summer, you may read the assigned selection prior to the start of the semester.

Students are encouraged to purchase or procure their own copies of the text, but we are happy to provide a copy for you, if needed. The texts are also available in the form of an eBook. Please see the course instructors BEFORE the last day of school for a copy, or students can check out a copy from Mrs. Hodges in the WCHS Media Center.
