Hear ye, hear ye! We will be holding our royal meet and greet starting at 5:00 pm tonight. We hope you will join us for a family night of fun. The Kingdom of Reading (JES Book Fair) will also be open to all. The Scout meeting will also be held following APTT starting at 6:15 pm in the JES cafeteria. If your child has a costume and would like to dress up, we encourage them to engage in the fun. We hope to see everyone at 5.
The JES Fall APTT Meeting is September 12th. We will have a royal meet and greet with princesses and knights. The Kingdom of Reading will also be open to all. We can't wait to see you there!


Infinite Campus Parent Portal updated a new feature that allows you to reset your own passwords in the Parent Portal app in the future. Because of this, your Parent Portal app may ask to confirm your email address on file. Please see the graphic below to answer a frequently asked question regarding the parent portal app.

Our earlier communication stated that all schools will be closed on Monday due to impending weather, As a result, Pre-K Open House is postponed to Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Please bring your child's immunization records to the school on Wednesday.
Wayne County School District Schedule Update Due to Tropical Storm Debby
Due to the anticipated heavy rains from Tropical Storm Debby, the Wayne County School District is adjusting the pre-planning schedule, and the start of the school year as follows:
• Monday, August 5: All schools and offices will be closed. No system employees are required to report to work.
• Tuesday, August 6: Weather permitting, and if travel is safe, district and school administrators are to report to work. Further guidance will be provided by the superintendent.
• Wednesday, August 7: Open House for all schools will be held from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Thursday, August 8: The first day of school for students.
Please note that this schedule may change based on local road conditions, power outages, and potential damage to school property. Any necessary updates will be communicated through our usual channels.

Parents, you don't want to miss our JES Art Show next Tuesday night, February 6th! You can go online now and preview and purchase your students' artwork before the show. The link is https://artomestore.com/collec.../jesupelementaryschool31546. You can buy it now and pick it up at the show next week or wait and purchase it in person. We will be doing online credit/debit purchases only. All students present during art class in the first semester will have their artwork framed and displayed in the gym.


With the severe weather in our area subsiding, all Wayne County schools will reopen with their normal schedules on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Due to the forecast for severe weather in our area tomorrow, January 9, 2024, all Wayne County schools will be closed for staff and students. After-school activities are also canceled. The school board meeting scheduled for 6:00 pm on January 9, 2024, will be postponed to a date that is yet to be determined. We will continue to monitor the situation as the day progresses and be back in touch with you via school email, ClassTag, Facebook, and our school and system websites as soon as the determination is made regarding the reopening of schools.
According to Wayne Emergency Management, the following conditions are possible on Tuesday:
- Wind Advisory (4:00 am – sunset Tuesday morning)
- Possible Thunderstorms (3:00 am -7:00 am Tuesday morning in front of a warm front)
- Squall Line of Possible Thunderstorms (Noon – Sunset Tuesday) - Straight line winds and quick span tornados possible - Sustained winds (20-25mph) with gusts of 45-55mph
- Predicted rainfall is 1” to 1-½” and could be more localized

According to our calendar, progress reports are scheduled to go home tomorrow. However, due to some issues with Infinite Campus today, schools have been unable to load the data and print the reports. As a result, progress reports will be sent home on Friday, September 8. We apologize for the inconvenience and very much appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a GREAT day.
The Wayne County-Appling County football game originally scheduled for this evening has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 7, at 7:00 p.m., in Baxley. If you purchased tickets this week, those tickets will be good to get you in the game on September 7. GO JACKETS!
This is a reminder to all parents and students: All Wayne County schools will be open and will run normal schedules tomorrow, Friday, September 1. We are thankful that our community was spared the brunt of the storm damage and we are excited to see students back at school bright and early tomorrow morning.
