Parents/Guardians,
Given that the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for our area, we wanted to make you aware that students who are still at school will be hunkering down until the threat subsides. Buses have either stopped or will soon be doing so to shelter students. As a result, buses may be late getting students home. When we receive word that it is safe to begin transporting students, we will do so.
Parents/Guardians,
Local law enforcement personnel will be conducting an active shooter drill at the Jesup campus of Coastal Pines Technical College on Friday, May 10. We wanted to make you aware in advance in the event that you hear unusual sounds or see an increased law enforcement presence on or around the CPTC campus tomorrow. Please see the attached document for more details of the drill.
As in past years, when we transition to a new parent-school communication system, there are some hiccups that we have to work out. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates. If you need assistance in correcting any issues with the new Parent-Teacher Chat app, rather than airing that out on social media, please contact LaRae Thornton at lthornton@wayne.k12.ga.us, and she will gladly assist you in getting things straightened out. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
Say “hello” to two-way messaging in the Wayne County Schools app! The same district app now offers class streams, class announcements, and parent-teacher chat. Look for your personalized invitation to begin using this feature in our app after Wednesday, May 1st.
